Why Japagrit Persists in the Inbound Tourism Business:
"Culture exists to enrich our life."
Economic growth is fueled by competition, streamlining, and development. However, these factors don't always guarantee a richer life. In fact, they can sometimes lead to mental exhaustion.
Today, what truly enriches our lives is encountering "culture."
The definition of culture is ambiguous. It encompasses traditions, regions, customs, values, and more, varying from person to person. Yet, this very ambiguity is what makes culture so captivating.

Encountering Unfamiliar Lands Enriches Lives
When we travel, we encounter a wide array of cultures, including buildings, landscapes, languages, religions, and cuisines we've never experienced before.
At Japagrit, we value firsthand exploration and learning. We believe that in order to provide exceptional service to our clients, we must first visit these places ourselves.
Kurama gave us mindfulness
For instance, we recently visited Mount Kurama in Kyoto as part of a preliminary tour for an upcoming business group from Taiwan visiting Kyoto and Osaka.
Just a 30-minute train ride from the city center, Mount Kurama is enveloped in a serene atmosphere, surrounded by lush forests and crisp air.

The name "Kurama" is said to have originated from "Kurai-yama" (dark mountain), as it's often shrouded in mist, creating an almost mystical ambiance.
Legend has it that a disciple of Ganjin, a monk who introduced Buddhism to Japan from India, came to Mount Kurama and was saved by a deity. This is said to be the origin of Kurama Temple.
Today, Kurama Temple, believed to gather cosmic energy and bring blessings to the land, is a popular spiritual spot and hiking destination for both domestic and international visitors.
However, we delve deeper than the typical information and superficial aspects.
Here are some of the historical depth and regional characteristics we discovered at Kurama:
* Moss: The temple, with over 1,000 years of history, is nestled in an environment where mist often lingers, making the moss incredibly vibrant. The deep green hue of the moss evokes a sense of history. Perhaps, much like the lyrics "苔が生すまで" (until moss grows) in the Japanese national anthem, it unconsciously represents Japanese culture.
* Mount Kurama's Pilgrims: Mount Kurama, where the renowned historical figure Minamoto no Yoshitsune trained, has been a destination for self-discipline for centuries. Even today, we see many people hiking, using tree trunks for support.
* Traces of Past Hikers: At the trailhead, we stumbled upon a pile of weathered wood, likely left behind by hikers over the years. These remnants, seemingly insignificant, speak to the countless individuals who have walked this path.
Even in seemingly ordinary spaces, there are countless moments where we can perceive various cultural elements and history.
The greatest appeal of the tourism business lies in the ability to enjoy personal time in an environment free from distractions like smartphones, allowing for a deeper connection with the surroundings.
